Multi Breed Conformation
the United Kennel Club Way

United Kennel Club conformation shows are similar to AKC shows but with a more relaxed family atmosphere. There are no professional handlers showing dogs, but the true owners, co-owners or the breeders of the dogs. To enter a UKC show you must first have a registered dog with the UKC provided that they are intact and neither blind nor deaf. Be sure to go to our club's links page for more information on how to register with UKC.

A personal touch that UKC offers is the 'PR' or Purple Ribbon Pedigree. In the early part of the 1930's, UKC registered and trademarked with the United States Department of Commerce the Purple Ribbon Pedigree. This pedigree is only offered by the United Kennel Club, Inc. , and is the mark of the United Kennel Club purebred dog.
Another personal touch that UKC does offer is the DNA program. You can purchase a kit from UKC to establish a permanent record of the identity for any dog that is registered. DNA is the genetic blueprint found in every living cell - skin, hair, blood, semen, etc. This program would identify every dog and it's parents because every dog has a unique unchangeable genetic pattern that they inherit from their parents. Click on the words above to learn more about this type of registration at the UKC FAQ site.

Be sure to know the rules before you go into a UKC ring. You are allowed certain types of toys, but there is no food baiting or grooming inside of the ring.
